You really can trade in all the bad for a new beginning.
I did.
You don’t have to wonder if He’ll love you.
He does.
You don’t have to worry if He’s big enough to conquer your mess.
He is.
You’ll never have to look for love again.
Just bend.
To love.
HE IS.
Love.
God exists and wants to bless us. If we are serious about it. “…anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Hebrews 11:6b
God is the source of all that is good. “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” James 1:17
God speaks to us through His Word, the Bible. “For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” 2 Peter 1:21
God hates evil (sin), and punishes it with death. “For the wages of sin is death…” Romans 6:23a
I sin. “There is not a righteous man on earth who does what is right and never sins.” Ecclesiastes 7:20
Jesus Christ came to make me right with God. “For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” 1 Timothy 2:5
He never sinned. “…we have One Who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin. Hebrews 4:15
He died to take the punishment I earned. “For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.” 1 Peter 3:18a
He rose to prove He is of God and He has power over death. “By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also.” 1 Corinthians 6:14 “Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God;” John 13:3
He constantly is with those who love Him to give them His life. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
I must become convinced: My way has been and is altogether wrong and God’s Way is the only right way. (Repent) “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,” Acts 3:19
I must submit my life to Jesus by being baptized in His Name. “Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit….Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.” Acts 2:38,41
I must live as Jesus lived by daily accepting His power to do right. “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matt 11:29 “Then he said to them all: “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” Luke 9:23
Submission = true freedom and glory, not transitory illusion. Rebellion = slavery. He sets us free from sin through His saving grace.
Wow. Great insight, Kate! Thanks for this!
