When They Hate You

Hatred is something peculiar. You will always find it strongest and most violent where there is the lowest degree of culture.  –Geothe

Sometimes we just have to do what our heart is screaming at us.

That’s when it comes: The folks who cannot hear your heart screaming just cannot let it go. Just cannot let you be who you are.

You stay home? Tsk.

You don’t work? Tsk.

You follow a different Drummer? Tsk, tsk.

I can think of many into whose lives a stay-at-home woman would have contributed more sanity, more uprightness, more fairness, more wisdom, more of everything this old world needs, these days.

The haters of women used to be few. Not now. Not now that no one trains the children to grow up to be human.

The truth is: if you know you have to stay home then you have to.

Stay home.

Love your children.

Teach them to love.

Teach them to love women.

  1. Ruth Bailey says:

I am so blessed to have a husband who wanted me to stay home and raise our children! We both knew that no amount of money could pay for the services I rendered to my family and to the community. Now that we have launched four responsible, respectful, successful adults into the community, it is my turn to pursue “what I want to do when I grow up,” which for me means staying home and being self-employed. Thank you, Katharine, for your support for those of us who have made this choice.

You are so very welcome, Ruth, and thanks for these kind words!

We are also so glad we did what we did. And I say “we” deliberately. It takes two parents, working together, to get good results.

That’s why God made it that way. 🙂

Is this making any sense?
